OnePlus had recently launched OnePlus 8 Pro, a smartphone with a 5MP color filter camera (AKA infrared sensor) onboard. It comes with a “Color Filter” camera that has a filter called Photochrom. Photochrom uses the smartphone’s infrared sensor to give a specific effect. According to PetaPixel, the company is working on an update that “disables the 5MP ‘color filter’ camera”. This move came after people discovered the camera could see through some materials.
It is said that the company’s action to bring this update is prompted by the backlash from users. OnePlus 8 Pro users were afraid that the camera might be able to see through their clothing. A test conducted by UnboxTherapy on YouTube showed that the 5MP infrared sensor could see through some materials like thin plastics, and in some “very specific and unrealistic circumstances,” clothing also. It was also seen that the camera might be able to show what someone is holding underneath a black shirt. However it was found only in a case when the shirt was stretched tightly enough over the box.
Company’s Response to OnePlus 8 Pro Color Filter
The possible privacy threat, though under extreme circumstances has led the company take an action. The company has decided to update its software to disable the camera functionality temporarily. The news of this update, originally posted on Weibo was took on to Twitter by Ben Geskin. He tweeted that OnePlus will temporarily disable the “Color filter” camera functionality through a software update.
Similar tests were also done by different people but they didn’t find the camera to see through the clothes. Gizmodo UK did one such test and found only electronic components were seen inside some devices in specific cases. They found that the Color filter sensor didn’t see through the clothes. Ben Geskin too said the camera didn’t see through any of the clothes they tested.
As OnePlus describes the update as “temporary,” but it remains unclear when the “Color filter” functionality will be reactivated again. For now, the OnePlus 8 Pro users can only expect the functionality of the IR camera to be disabled.
Comcast is adding new data plans to its Xfinity Mobile service that will allow those with 5G phones to take advantage of Verizon’s millimeter-wave 5G network. Xfinity Mobile uses Verizon’s network for service and is offering 5G access to its customers through Verizon’s own 5G network. The company on Monday announced that the new plans will continue to allow data to be purchased either by the gigabyte or as unlimited data for the month. In Xfinity’s new plans, existing customers will have the option to opt-in to a 5G plan.
Comcast Xfinity Data Plans
The company is offering its plans based on “by the gigabyte” or unlimited data for the month. The “by the gig” plan has three levels of plans based on the allowed data consumption. The first plan starts at 1GB of data for $15 per month, and the mid-level plan offers 3GB data for $30. The top plan is comparatively cheap and offers 10GB of data for $60.
Users can share the data between multiple people on the same plan in “by the gig” offerings, but if the data exceeds the limit, the additional charges remain at $15 per gigabyte. The unlimited data plan charges $45 per month for a single line.
Users will have the ability to change their plans throughout the month through the Xfinity Mobile app. On the same app, existing customers can update their plans to the new ones and opt-in for 5G too.
Prerequisites
To avail the benefits of these plans from Comcast, users need to be subscribed to Comcast’s Xfinity home internet service. Users will be able to take advantage of 5G but will require a compatible device that supports 5G. Xfinity Mobile currently has only two 5G devices on its network, the Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus 5G, and Samsung Galaxy S20 5G Ultra. Users with these two devices will have complete access to the 5G network. However the company says additional devices “will continue to be added in the future”.

Does that one extra page at the end of your Word document annoys you? If yes, then here are some of the reasons why it happens with the tech remedy to fix it on both your Windows and macOS systems.
1. One of the easiest ways to delete those annoying extra pages on your word document is using the ‘Backspace’ key.
Move the cursor to the page you want to delete. Then press the Backspace key again and again until the page gets deleted. Most of the time the work is done with just a few clicks of the Backspace button but some times it can be more than just a few clicks to make it vanish. If this doesn’t work there are plenty of other ways to get rid of that extra page.
Press Option+⌘+G (for macOS) or simply Ctrl+G (for word).
This will open up a pop-up window on your screen with a ‘Go to’ tab. In the field box, you have to enter the page number as specified.
Click on ‘Enter’ and then on the ‘Close’ option.
Now if there’s any content on the entered page number, it will get selected.
Click on the ‘Backspace’ button.
The unwanted page is deleted.
3. View Page and Delete It
Click on the ‘View’ tab.
Now you will see three checkbox options (i.e. Ruler, Gridlines, Navigation Panel). Click on the ‘Navigation Panel’ checkbox.
On each page, a sidebar will appear.
Click on the page you want to remove.
The last step is to click on the ‘Backspace’ button until the page is deleted.
4. Condense the Extra Paragraphs
Sometimes an extra paragraph at the end is the reason for that one irritating extra page. You can solve this problem by following these simple steps:
Click on the ‘Home’ tab.
Go to the ‘Show/Hide P’ option.
If there are paragraphs that are leaking onto another page, you get rid of them just by simply deleting it.
If the information is important and cannot be compromised with, then just change the font size to some smaller size than the previous one. So, the text size appearing on the screen becomes smaller. Thus, taking less space, the extra page will vanish automatically.
5. Delete the Page Break
Check whether there are page breaks before or on the page you want to delete. This you can find out by using paragraph shows. Following the previous two steps i.e.
Click on the ‘Home’ tab.
Go to the ‘Show/Hide P’ option.
You’ll be able to see the page breaker as it will appear as ‘page break’ — delete it.
When it gets deleted the extra page also disappears. Now to hide those paragraph marks click the ‘Show/Hide P’ button again.
6. The Incorrect Setup of Section
This problem of an extra page can also occur due to incorrect set up of sections. To resolve this problem, follow these steps: · Click on the ‘Layout’ tab. · Then go to the ‘Margin’ option. A drop-down menu will appear. · Click on the ‘Custom Margins…’ option. Now a pop-up window will appear on your screen. ·Look to the drop-down menu next to ‘Section start:’ located at the top of the window. Make sure the ‘New page’ is selected.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, every street was under lockdown across the globe. For weeks on end, every market and business was shut. Now, as the restrictions are being eased, companies are finding it convenient to sell their products online. This has increased the scope for online businesses and every business is trying to launch its services online.
In the past few weeks, we have seen the rise of various online services, especially the grocery and essential commodities. Some companies launched mobile apps for sellers while some created web apps to sell and deliver their products to their customers. Now a week ago, PepsiCo also launched two direct-to-consumer (DTC) websites for shopping their snacks online during this COVID-19 pandemic. These websites let the Americans get their favorite snacks online directly from the company. This may help the company build its e-commerce prowess over the longer term.
The Two New DTC Websites
The sites were launched last Monday and are available through the domains PantryShop.com and Snacks.com. These are the two new DTC websites of PepsiCo “where shoppers can order an assortment of PepsiCo’s trusted and loved food and beverage brands,” said the company. These online shopping portals are mainly a response to pandemic buying habits.
While PantryShop.com provides bundles of different products which contain PepsiCo’s top-selling, pantry favorites from brands like Quaker, SunChips, Tropicana, etc. Snacks.com offers customers their favorite Frito-Lay products from brands like Lay’s, Tostitos, Cheetos, and Ruffles. Customers can also order crackers, nuts, and more. American consumers can now order PepsiCo snacks online through these two websites and get them to deliver at their doorstep. PepsiCo is also offering free shipping for its customers on orders above $15.
This is a good way of getting the snacks directly from the company without the presence of any middlemen in between. The best thing is that you can get your favorite snacks without even getting out of your house.
Due to the atrocious condition caused by the Coronavirus pandemic, it resulted in the implementation of lockdown and banning of e-commerce companies from shipping the orders consisting of non-essential commodities. But now the companies can ship their products throughout the country irrespective of which zone they belong. The services are allowed in red, orange, green, or buffer zone, the only exception, in this case, is the containment zone.
The Union Minister for Home Affairs has made new announcements concerning Lockdown 4.0. These announcements have come out to be a gasp of relief in the Lockdown 4.0 for e-commerce as now e-commerce sites like Amazon, Flipkart can ship both essential and non-essential products throughout the country except for the containment zones as earlier mentioned.
What are the Steps Taken by Amazon
Amazon has recently announced that now it will accept orders for all sorts of goods across the country. The company is also providing ‘Pay on Delivery’ over orders in most of the locations. The company even said that looking at the seriousness of the situation, they’ll take some precautionary measures – like social distancing, while delivering the order to our doorstep. For more information, you can visit either Amazon’s app or website. But if you belong to a location where only the essential order option is available, then you can make prepaid payments only.
After Amazon coming back to the game, there are expectations that its rival Flipkart will also resume its services. But there’s no official confirmation from the company’s end. Though, there are speculations that once the Delhi government releases its guideline for Lockdown 4.0 the company will make a detailed announcement on its decision.
Although the Ministry of Home Affairs has allowed shipping within all zones, the ministry has allowed to let the center and states take the final decision depending on the situation. The e-commerce industry is sanguine about the annul of the restriction, and they are confident about things to be under control from their end.

The budget smartphone scene in India has gotten to a point where not a week goes by without a new model launching or at least being teased, rumored, or leaked about some phone on the horizon. Brands Like Xiaomi, Realme, Samsung, Vivo, Oppo, etc. are giving stiff competition to each other. Good smartphones are getting cheaper and cheap smartphones are getting good. So here are your options on what you can pick around the 15,000 INR price mark.
There are various devices that you would have probably searched up if you are reading this article. Some of those could be:
Samsung Galaxy M30s
Honor 9X
Samsung Galaxy M21
Realme 6
Redmi Note 9 Pro
Vivo U20
Nokia 7.2
Oppo A5
Tecno Camon 15
Clearing The Crowd: Realme 6 and Redmi Note 9 Pro
Realistically, we could only pick the Realme 6 and the Redmi Note 9 Pro for suggesting anyone to buy as all the other phones in this segment lose out on something or the other, reducing the overall value proposition. The Samsung devices low out their chipsets, being budget Exynos chips that usually don’t perform heavy tasks well. Oppo and Vivo devices too, have sub-par Snapdragon 600 chipsets which are definitely a downgrade considering that the Realme and Redmi have pushed out devices with the Mediatek Helio G90T and Snapdragon 700 series in the past. Phones from Tecno and Honor have great designs but they rarely receive important software updates and suffer from the poor resale value. Nokia 6 and 7 series devices also tend to have inferior processors or battery life, which is why we have to rule them out.
Realme 6 and the Redmi Note 9 Pro are the 2 best options you should be looking out if you are into the market in this segment. These are the choices most people should consider since they have great processors, fast charging, excellent cameras, gorgeous displays, and software that won’t cause issues even in the long term. We shall mainly focus on the differences in each category in our article. This has been done as all the basics are fairly similar for both the devices and any specifics shall be mentioned in our review.
Specification Overview for the Geeks
Specs
Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro
Realme 6
Display
6.67 inches IPS LCD 2,400 x 1,080 20:9 aspect ratio Corning Gorilla Glass 5 60Hz
6.5 inches IPS LCD 2,400 x 1,080 20:9 aspect ratio Corning Gorilla Glass 3 90Hz
The 4GB RAM & 64GB storage versions of both phones are priced at Rs. 13,999 in India, which is a really competitive starting price n this market. Next up, you get a 6/128GB variant for each of the devices, but the Realme 6 is less expensive at Rs. 15,999, compared to Rs. 16,999 for this variant of the Redmi Note 9 Pro. Realme offers a third version too with 8/128GB of storage for Rs. 15,999. And gains a slight edge as its highest variant has 2GB more RAM than Xiaomi’s offering at a similar price. Overall, both phones offer very good value. It is worth noting that getting the 64GB variants would not be recommended if you plan to use the phone for a long time or if you are tight on budget.
Smartphone designs have gotten very similar lately and the same can be seen with both these phones too. Both phones come in multiple color variants but what you like could be your personal choice. Redmi is the heavier phone at 209g. Xiaomi has also used Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back of this phone. This feels much more premium compared to the Realme 6 which only has a Gorilla Glass 3 covered front display and a polycarbonate back which doesn’t feel as premium. It weighs in much lesser at 191g though and has a better and more reachable button placement.
Both phones also have a mono speaker setup with bottom-firing speakers and type-C ports at the bottom. The Redmi though, has a notification LED tucked in its top speaker. The fingerprint scanners are power button mounted and are both speedy enough to your satisfaction. Overall, Redmi wins in this category for the premium feel it offers in the hand. But if you like compact phones, the Realme might attract you more.
Cameras
Lens Specifications
Both phones here have 4 rear cameras, but with different sensors and types of modules. The Redmi Note 9 Pro has a 48-megapixel Samsung GM2 sensor as its primary sensor; an 8MP wide-angle camera; a 5-MP macro camera; and a 2MP depth sensor. Realme 6, on the other hand, has a 64-megapixel primary sensor; an 8MP wide-angle lens; a 2MP macro camera; and lastly a depth sensor. Both phones have 16-megapixel front punch-hole cameras.
Image Quality
Autofocus is quick on both phones and the image quality shines under good lighting. While shooting landscapes in daylight, we found that the Realme 6 did a better job overall. Details in distant objects were also better represented and colors were more natural, compared to the Redmi Note 9 Pro which often oversharpened images and boosted the saturation a bit too much. Looking at the shots taken with both phones’ wide-angle cameras, it’s the Redmi Note 9 Pro that did a better job with details. This was true for macro shots as well. Realme 6’s 2MP macro camera doesn’t even come close to Redmi’s 5MP sensor. Close-ups were almost evenly matched, although we preferred the slightly richer colors and textures that the Realme 6 produced.
In low light too, it was the Realme 6 that delivered better details and exposures in the darker regions of photos. Surprisingly, the Realme 6’s wide-angle camera performed slightly better in low light, compared to the Redmi Note 9 Pro, which is opposite to what happened in bright light situations.
With selfies, we found the Realme 6 to have captured better details and skin tones, although the Redmi Note 9 Pro wasn’t far behind. Both selfie cameras captured weak details in low light, but we preferred the warmer skin tones of the Realme 6’s photos. With screen flash enabled on both phones, the Redmi Note 9 Pro captured brighter colors, but these were wildly exaggerated. We feel it’s about image processing by its software which can be bettered with a software update. The Realme 6 captured more evenly lit photos with natural colors.
Video Quality
The Realme 6 and the Redmi Note 9 Pro can shoot up to 4K 30FPS resolution video, but without stabilization. During the day, the Realme 6 captures more realistic-looking footage, while the Redmi oversaturates here as well. The latter does manage better quality videos with its wide-angle camera though. The Redmi Note 9 Pro has better stabilization at 1080p, but colors can look heavily exaggerated. Low light footage is a nightmare for both these phones though, and you shouldn’t expect it to be usable as such.
Performance and Display
The Redmi Note 9 Pro comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G SoC, while Realme 6 uses the MediaTek Helio G90T. Both produce similar scores in most of the popular benchmark apps and have similar gaming performance too, neither reaching temperatures out of control. The Redmi Note 9 Pro scored 279,978 points in AnTuTu while the Realme 6 scored 290,210 points. We didn’t face any issues with either smartphone. Multitasking is handled well and both are snappy when navigating through Android with their respective custom UIs on top.
The Realme 6 has a 6.5-inch display compared to the 6.67-inch display on the Redmi Note 9 Pro but both of these are IPS LCD panels. Brightness and color gamut is adequate and so is readability under direct sunlight. Both also feature hole-punch cutouts, with the Redmi Note 9 Pro having its front camera in the center, while the Realme 6 has it in the upper left corner. The fluid effect when scrolling is missing in the Redmi Note 9 Pro, which the Realme 6 enjoys thanks to the 90Hz refresh rate. This is a huge dealbreaker as Realme 6 completely alters the segment with this capability and this also allows for a way smoother software experience and the phone feels snappier than it is.
Both Xiaomi and Realme offer their customized versions of Android 10. The Redmi Note 9 Pro runs MIUI 11 which is quite customizable with themes and features a lot of gestures and shortcuts that you can enable. This being MIUI, you should expect a lot of spam notifications from stock apps and not all of them can be disabled. Realme’s new Realme UI is lean and offers a look and feel that’s closer to stock Android, which we appreciate. You get an app drawer and plenty of options for customizing the look and feel of the interface. The Realme 6 does have many preinstalled applications, just like the Redmi Note 9 Pro, and most of them can be uninstalled. Thankfully, there isn’t too much annoyance in the form of unsolicited notifications from the stock apps, and those that do get through can be disabled.
Despite the issues with spam in the MIUI, both custom skins are polished and easy to live with. There’s a small learning curve with either one if you come from a phone running stock Android, but neither is too complicated. Xiaomi has spent years refining the look and feel of MIUI while Realme has taken Oppo’s already fairly polished ColorOS and has added some of its flair to it.
Battery life and Charging
The Redmi Note 9 Pro has a bigger 5,020mAh battery as compared to the 4,300mAh one in the Realme 6. It is also worth noting that the 720G chipset is based on an 8nm process while the Helio G90T on a 12nm process. This should theoretically enable the Redmi Note 9 to offer a better battery life. In our tests, we found that both phones would easily last for about a day and a half before needing to charge, which is excellent. But you should note that getting a longer runtime might be possible from the Redmi Note 9 Pro, thanks to its higher capacity battery and a 60Hz screen.
When it comes to charging, the Realme 6 can be topped up really quickly, in about an hour, thanks to the fast 30W VOOC charger in the box. On the contrary, the 18W charger supplied with the Redmi Note 9 Pro takes above 2 hours to fully charge.
Verdict – Get The Realme 6
If we had to pick a winner, the Realme 6 would be the one. It’s more manageable for everyday use and has quicker charging. It has a slightly more powerful processor, better loudspeaker, and higher-refresh-rate display. Its cameras also deliver more consistent performance. Then there’s the Realme UI, which we prefer over MIUI, especially considering the ad situation. Looking at the variants on offer, the top-end version of the Realme 6 gets you 2GB more RAM than the top-end version of the Redmi Note 9 Pro, for the same amount of money.
The Redmi Note 9 Pro is a solid offering too, and ups the Realme 6 in some areas, most notably its scratch-resistant glass back, a not so conventional design, bigger battery, and better wide-angle and macro cameras. However, it’s not the easiest to manage in the hand, MIUI can be annoying with its never-ending spam notifications, and it isn’t as easily available as the Realme 6, being sold in flash sales only.
Both these phones are the best you can get in the budget segment and do very well for the price. People have different needs and we compared and contrasted these phones to let you decide what goes for you. If you’re looking for the best smartphone currently on sale for under Rs. 15,000, then the Realme 6 is the one to go for.
When we talk about social media, Facebook is the first name that comes to our minds. It is the most popular social media platform and is used by more than a billion people. One way or the other, Facebook has changed a lot in the world in terms of communication. Since 2004, when it was born, it has evolved so much that only the one who knows it from years, can fathom. I still remember using Facebook on those Nokia phones, when there wasn’t even the option of seeing “who’s online”. Since then, the social-networking giant has added so many features onto its platform.
