17 Joker Malware Infected Apps Removed From the Play Store

17 Joker malware infected apps that are removed from the Play Store.

Google has removed 17 apps from its Play Store, which were Joker malware-infected and had around 120,000 downloads already.

Joker malware, aka, Bread monitors the person’s SMS messages, contact lists, and device information which then subscribes to the paid subscriptions automatically without the user’s consent.

Joker malware has invaded the Google Play Store several times in the past. Google has been practicing hard to keep the Play Store safe from such harmful malware and viruses.

Zscaler ThreatLabZ research team published a blog on Thursday about identifying 17 apps on Google Play Store.

Following are the 17 apps that are removed from the Play Store:

  1. All Good PDF Scanner
  2. Mint Leaf Message-Your Private Message
  3. Unique Keyboard – Fancy Fonts & Free Emoticons
  4. Tangram App Lock
  5. Direct Messenger
  6. Private SMS
  7. One Sentence Translator – Multifunctional Translator
  8. Style Photo Collage
  9. Meticulous Scanner
  10. Desire Translate
  11. Talent Photo Editor – Blur focus
  12. Care Message
  13. Part Message
  14. Paper Doc Scanner
  15. Blue Scanner
  16. Hummingbird PDF Converter – Photo to PDF
  17. All Good PDF Scanner

How Joker malware bypasses the Google security?

The Joker malware keeps on bypassing the Google Play Store security because this malware keeps on changing its code, execution methods, or payload-retrieving techniques to steal money and personal data.

Zscaler ThreatLabZ research team also explained the three scenarios on how the Joker malware bypasses the Google Play security.

⦁ The Joker malware malicious apps have obscured C&C URL embedded in them for direct download. Once installed the malicious app contacts the C&C server for download. Joker malware uses DES encryption to execute these C&C activities.

⦁ The infected apps have a stager payload added. Stager payload retrieves the final payload URL from the code which then downloads and executes it.

⦁ Infected apps have two stager payloads to download the final payload. The infected app on the Google Play Store download the stage one payload, which then downloads the stage two payload, and finally, it loads the end Joker payload.

How to secure yourself from such malicious apps?

The easiest way is to check the permissions of the apps you are installing.

For eg, there is a calculator app that is asking permission to access your message and call logs. Such apps which ask for unusual permissions are the one we should look after and not consider downloading.

OnePlus 8T Geekbench Listing Surfaced, OxygenOS 11 Confirmed

OnePlus 8 with OnePlus Buds

While the OnePlus 8T Geekbench listing had surfaced initially in July, which spurred the speculation surrounding the upcoming smartphone. However, the listing has now received fresh updates. These updates have confirmed some of the rumours while denied the rest.

For starters, this OnePlus 8T Geekbench listing has confirmed that the device will feature Android 11. This was also confirmed by OnePlus CEO Pete Lau through a forum post. It will make the OnePlus 8T the first phone to feature Android 11 apart from Google’s own Pixel series.

The device, having model number KB2000, featured a 12 GB RAM. An earlier GeekBench release for model number KB2001 confirmed the development of an 8GB variant as well. Referred to as OnePlus Kebab, the device will have a single eight-core processor with a base frequency of 1.8 GHz. The detailed Geekbench listing for the smartphone can be accessed here.

Speculation remains with OnePlus 8T Geekbench Listing

The most surprising news surrounding the OnePlus 8T was about its SoC. While the earliest reports suggested that this device will feature a Snapdragon 865+, leaks last month suggested a Snapdragon 865 for the smartphone. The latest OnePlus 8T Geekbench listing specified the SoC to be “kona”, which is said to be a codename for Qualcomm Snapdragon 865.

With the launch of OnePlus 8T scheduled for October 14th, there is still time for OnePlus to announce whether the device will run on Snapdragon 865+ or the Snapdragon 865 that is running the existing OnePlus 8 devices.

As speculated earlier by sources on Twitter, there is not going to be an OnePlus 8T Pro release. It was confirmed by the OnePlus CEO through his post on Weibo. However, he added that OnePlus still has other surprises coming up for customers this year.

Fresh Season Brings Fresh Call of Duty: Warzone Bugs

Call of Duty Warzone Logo

Infinity Ward rolled out the major season 6 updates for Call of Duty: Warzone. It brought tons of new features and upgrades to the game. These additions are expected to pave a way for the speculated transition to the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. But it also came with fresh Call of Duty: Warzone bugs.

The first major bug in the update is associated with the newly added weapon AS VAL Assault Rifle. This glitch, affecting both Modern Warfare and Warzone, allows players to kill an opponent through the walls without a damage reduction. This glitch was uploaded on Twitter by @WhiteChickenYT. Here is the original tweet.

The bug in question allowed the player to kill an opponent while there were six walls between the two. The more surprising part is what happens when you add the FMJ perk to your weapon.

It is supposed to improve bullet penetration. However, it worsened the bullet penetration for the AS VAL. This might be because the FMJ perk corrects the bullet penetration values, which were broken by the 10-round magazine attachment.

Call of Duty: Warzone bugs enter the Gulag

The list of Call of Duty: Warzone bugs which break the game doesn’t end yet. Another glitch to hit the popular battle royale game is affecting the game’s Gulag feature. For those unaware, Gulag is a place where players killed in Warzone fight in a 1v1 battle. The winner of the battle gets revived on the Warzone map.

However, the new glitch causes players to temporarily teleport from the Gulag to the Warzone map before even getting to finish their match. This has led to instances where players managed to kill unsuspecting opponents before being sent back to Gulag.

Along with the self-revive glitch which means players cannot revive themselves on the newly added subway, Infinity Ward is getting barraged with flak towards these game-breaking Call of Duty: Warzone bugs. It remains to be seen how quickly the developers will manage to fix these issues, as there have been no official comments yet.

How to turn off two-factor authentication on iPhone

How to turn off two-factor authentication on iPhone

The two-factor authentication is undoubtedly a great feature that helps you maintain your privacy. Interestingly, this feature can now be found with most of the reputed companies and services. Be it Google, WhatsApp, Apple, or whatever.

Moreover, this authentication feature plays a substantial role in the lives of those who are incredibly concerned about their privacy.

However, when it comes to Apple products, we already know they are immensely famous for its superb security and privacy. Plus, with the two-factor authentication feature being enabled on your iPhone, you are more secured now.

But it also gets really annoying, especially for the users with multiple Apple devices. Hence, most of the users are looking for a method to turn off this feature.

Why Should you turn off the Two-Factor authentication on iPhone?

One of the best features Apple provides is the ultimate syncing among multiple devices. But if you have enabled the two-factor authentication on your iPhone, you need to log in every single time you want to access your Apple ID using some other Apple device.

This becomes further frustrating if you have an iPad instead of an iPhone. You will then have to carry your iPad anywhere you go, as you will receive the verification number only on your iPad.

Also read: How to Tell If Someone Blocked You on Facebook

Due to such a complicated system, most people are now looking to turn off their iPhone features. But let me tell you once you turn on this feature, there is no going back. However, we came through a loophole that lets you turn off the Two-Factor authentication feature on your iPhone.

How To Turn Off Two-Factor Authentication on iPhone?

Although it is an amazing feature to keep your privacy intact and your data completely secured the only fact that you need to log in every time takes away the elegance of using synced Apple devices.

So, if you have already enabled the two-factor authentication on your iPhone and don’t know how to turn it off, this article will help you. Below, we have mentioned everything step-by-step that will guide you throughout the process.

Step 1: Open your Gmail account and search for the mail that you received while turning on the Two-Factor authentication.

Step 2: Now, you will see a link saying “Turn off two-factor authentication

Step 3: Click on the link and open it with Safari/Chrome. Log in with your Apple ID if it is required.

Step 4: Fill a new password for your Apple ID and hit continue.

Step 6: Click Turn off the Two-Factor authentication.

iPhone two-factor authentication Verification

Step 7: Go to Settings > Password & Security, you will see the Two-Factor authentication has been turned off.

So, this is how you can disable two-factor authentication feature on your iPhone and get back with the one-factor authentication.

We suggest you the standard settings rather than the two-factor feature as it gives you the freedom to use any of your devices with so much ease.

From Editor’s Desk

The two-factor settings undoubtedly offer a better and secured connection that can be trusted without any issues. However, when it comes to the synced in Apple devices’ smoothness, this feature just ruins everything.

Indeed, none of us would like to carry our iPhone or iPad everywhere we go. And without it, we will just get stuck as we cannot apply the verification code.

This is the only reason why iPhone users are looking to turn off this feature. If you were searching solutions for the same cause, we hope this article would help you get through it.

Also, let us know whether you successfully turned off the feature or not. And if you come up with any other issues, feel free to comment below. We would always be glad to help you out.

The VR software is intended for use with the Oculus headset, and it replicates a real office environment while making the most of digital tools. It is a mixed reality platform that combines virtual reality with a ‘real’ physical keyboard. Facebook built the platform to cater to workers who are choosing to work from home due to this coronavirus pandemic.

The mixed reality platform enables the users to experience the virtual working environment and, at the same time, see the surroundings of their room. It gives the user the freedom to work remotely from home while experiencing the feel of the office environment and being aware of the surroundings simultaneously.

Facebook Infinite Office Features

Facebook’s Infinite Office provides a large working space with multiple customizable screens to work. The screens are virtual, and hence there is no need for the extra physical monitors. The whole set-up allows users to see live feeds through the inbuilt cameras that enable them to have a mixed reality experience. It integrates their own room with the VR world in which they’re working.

The customizable screens are built atop an Oculus Browser that offers the users a desktop-like browsing experience. It means the users will have the same web experience in virtual world as they have in the real world. The good thing about Infinite Office is that it is designed to be very portable, and the users can easily pick up from where they had left off.

Infinite Office is also capable of integrating a real physical keyboard with the virtual world that lets users type on the virtual screen. Facebook has partnered with Logitech to bring this keyboard feature integration. The set-up recognizes and tracks the Logitech K830 and then renders it on the VR headsets. It enables the users to see the physical keyboard in the virtual reality Oculus Quest headset, and it lets the users type easily without any interruption. Facebook already has plans to roll out additional features on Infinite Office shortly. We may get to see new productivity features in the coming months.
