Samsung, on December 8, released a new whitepaper that highlights the capabilities and benefits of Massive Multi-Input, Multi-Output (MIMO) in 5G NR systems. Titled “Massive MIMO for New Radio,” the whitepaper shares the company’s roadmap for Massive MIMO solutions. It also presents essential air technologies, various form factors, and developmental plans, as well as the South Korean electronics giant’s “vision for this critical technology essential for 5G build-out.”
According to the whitepaper, Massive MIMO is a major breakthrough in technology to cope up with the exponentially increasing growth in mobile traffic. Samsung points out the need for fast and stable network connections with newly deployed 5G solutions. Notably, the company provides a wide array of Massive MIMO radio lineup that aims to support all of the globally defined 5G spectrums in mid-band and serve diverse environments and site requirements. Samsung says that it will continue to develop technology that supports a vast array of the spectrum with higher capacity.
Samsung said, it will introduce the next-generation Massive MIMO with enhancements in the latest 3GPP release 16 and 17 in the coming years. The electronics company also wants to lay the groundwork for Distributed FD-MIMO (Full Dimension MIMO) in near future.

“Look to Speak is a ‘Start with One’ project on the Experiments with Google platform,” reads the official Google blog post. “Throughout the design process, we reached out to a small group of people who might benefit from a communication tool like this,” said Richard Cave. With this new app, you can simply look left, right, or up to quickly select what you want to say from a list of pre-written phrases. The chosen phrases will then be read aloud on the Look to Speak app. Apart from this, you’ll also have the option to add your authentic voice notes on the app, which in turn will sound the phrases more personalized.

One of the major issues that Samsung faces in making a 600MP sensor is a huge camera bump — around 22mm thick — that too if the company uses its 0.8um pixel technology. This would make the camera bump nearly three times thicker than the Galaxy S20 camera. Additionally, the camera would also occupy a vast area of the phone’s rear plate — nearly four times the area of Samsung’s 0.8um 108MP sensors. So, the manufacturer would even need the smaller pixels to reduce the camera bump and area. It’s worth noting that Samsung recently hit the 0.7um pixel mark with its Isocell HM2 sensor.
