On September 24, Amazon unveiled its newest Eero 6 series routers — Eero 6 and Eero Pro 6. As the name suggests, both the routers feature Wi-Fi 6, the latest and fastest version of Wi-Fi technology. Wi-Fi 6 delivers faster speeds and higher performance, and it provides better support for simultaneously connected devices.
The American multinational technology company had bought Eero, the mesh networking startup, last year, and it released an affordable version of the Eero mesh router. It’s just after a year that the company has introduced a new set of two mesh routers. Eero 6 and Eero Pro 6 are available for pre-order on Amazon and Eero.com and will be available for delivery later this year.
Eero 6 Routers Features
The new Eero routers offer Wi-Fi 6 coverage for 75+ devices simultaneously, claims Amazon. The company says that both Eero 6 and Eero Pro 6 work with the existing Internet service that users have, and are backward compatible with all other Eero generations. The routers also feature a built-in Zigbee smart home hub that lets the compatible devices in the network connect to Eero 6 series without requiring a separate Zigbee hub.
A single Eero Pro 6 router covers an area up to 2,000 square feet. And the same two-pack and three-pack router cover about 3,500 and 6,000 sq. ft., respectively. Similarly, the Eero 6 single router covers up to 1,500 sq. ft. Also, the two-pack Eero 6 that covers over 3,000 sq. ft. comes with an Eero 6 mesh router and the new Eero 6 mesh Wi-Fi extender. On the other hand, the three-pack Eero 6 router includes Eero 6 router plus two Eero 6 mesh Wi-Fi extenders, covering up to 5,000 sq. ft. area.
Euro 6 Series Price and Availability
As said earlier, the Eero 6 series routers are already available for pre-order on Amazon.com and Eero.com portals. The single Eero 6 router starts at $129, and the two-pack and three-pack variants will cost $199 and $279, respectively.
Talking of Eero Pro 6, the one-pack costs $229, and the two-pack combo has a price of $399. Eero Pro 6 three-pack variant will cost $599. Additionally, if you also want to have Eero Secure or Eero Secure+, they’ll cost you $2.99 per month or $9.99 per month, respectively.
The new Wi-Fi systems series will be available to customers later this year. As per the Amazon listing of the devices, the items will be available on November 2.
