Samsung has unveiled the new range of U3 Class 10 SD cards, PRO Plus, and EVO Plus on October 13, 2020. This new range of sd cards is designed especially for photo enthusiasts and content creators.
PRO Plus and EVO Plus sd cards are available in 32GB to 256GB storage variants. The new Samsung SD cards can handle up to 4K UHD video recording and burst shots.
The PRO Plus series of sd card offers a read speed up to 100MB/s and write speed up to 90MB/s. Moreover, the EVO Plus series delivers transfer speed up to 100MB/s. There’s no information about individual read and write speeds of the EVO Plus series whatsoever.
However, there’s an exception, the 32GB and 64GB storage variants of the EVO Plus sd card series are not compatible with 4K UHD video recording as they’re U1, Class 10 sd cards.
Both PRO Plus and EVO Plus sd card series comes with additional sevens layers of protection to handle the intensive usage. The Korean company also claims that their sd cards durable enough to handle the tasks even in the most rugged conditions.
Dr. Mike Mang, vice president of The Memory Band Product Biz Team at Samsung Electronics said “For years, consumers around the world have trusted Samsung to deliver high-performance memory cards in a variety of capacities that meet their unique needs.” Both the SD lineups are waterproof, temperature-proof, x-ray proof, magnet-proof, shockproof, drop-proof, and wear-proof. But unfortunately, they’re not “bend-proof”, unlike Sony TOUGH SD card range.
