The eighth installment in the popular Resident Evil franchise, Resident Evil Village was first introduced to gamers at the PlayStation 5 event in June 2020. However, since then the publishers Capcom have remained tight-lipped surrounding the project.
Gamers eagerly waiting to know about RE8 were given something to look forward to by the Capcom Dev 1 account. The tweet announced that Resident Evil Village will be showcased as part of the Tokyo Game Show 2020. Here is the original tweet.
In addition, Capcom apologized to fans of the series for not providing the promised updates for the game in August. While it is not known how much will be shared with the people, a three-hour-long broadcast for Resident Evil Village will air as part of the Capcom TGS Live 2020.
This news came following potential leaks from Capcom insider AestheticGamer claiming RE8 might be the longest game in the history of the Resident Evil Franchise.
For context, a playthrough of Resident Evil VII: BioHazard is around 10 hours. Resident Evil 2 Remake takes a little over eight hours to beat. In conclusion, both titles are considered longer than a standard Resident Evil game. Hence, gamers’ anticipation has sky-rocketed with the prospect of a longer survival horror adventure.
