With more options, comes greater confusion. Buying a laptop is not easy, especially after the presence of so many players in the market. Moreover, the presence of so many configurations makes it a tougher choice to make. Most buyers in our surveys want to look for something decent under 50000 rupees. Here in our article, we cater to the exact same market. We have made a list of the best laptops under 50000 in India that we could find that you can pick up according to your needs and priorities as the same pros and cons might not suit 2 different people. Without further ado, let’s get started.

What to Look for While Buying Laptops Under 50000?

Well, most laptops in this price segment come with similar configurations of screen size, screen resolution, build quality, performance, RAM, storage, etc. Ideally, you should be looking for something that comes with Windows 10, 8GB of RAM, FULL HD or 1080p display and a mid-tier processor. Also, we would highly recommend getting a laptop with an SSD or a hybrid SSD+HDD spec configuration. Other highlights would be preferring a laptop with a good keyboard layout and feedback, windows-precision drivers enabled trackpad and keyboard backlighting. These little things just make the user experience a tad bit better. We omit to mention basics like display quality, battery life and build quality as they are mostly the same but we will mention if they are extraordinary for any of the machines listed here.

Acer Aspire 5 is in the rarity of laptops in this price range that offers an SSD+HDD hybrid drive combination. It comes with a 2TB HDD and 512GB PCIe based SSD which we don’t have words for. The mere cost of that storage option can cost around 12-15k for someone buying it separately in the market. Having the same, under 50000 rupees, is mind-blowing. Other than that, it also features a good looking design with plenty of ports for most needs. You’ll be surprised to know that this laptop even offers an Nvidia GeForce MX250 Graphics card in the same spec, making it one of the best-specced laptops in our article. It gets most of the basics right and it is a good option for anyone buying it, even outside India. Why, because it comes with an international warranty as well! So if storage and specs are important to you, this is one of the better choices you can make.

  • Storage is best in class

Improving upon the Zenbook, the ASUS VivoBook 14’s greatest strength is the presence of a 512GB PCIe based SSD that is one of the best in this price segment. Most laptops omit SSD’s totally or fit in 128 or 256GB based SATA drives. This laptop performs really well in day to day tasks and the presence of MX230 dedicated graphics card makes playing AAA titles possible and boosts content creation performance as well. The ASUS VivoBook 15 is almost like the above mentioned Vivobook 14, with a larger 15.6-inch screen, a Ryzen processor and a more-modern looking screen. The screen is almost the same quality but has a whopping 88% screen-to-body ratio which is just crazy. As we know, Ryzen processors are getting better over time and the majority won’t feel a difference between an Intel or an AMD processor lately. Moreover, this laptop comes in about ₹ 4,000 cheaper and we recommend this unless you must need an Intel-based processor.

Gaming laptops used to cost a fortune in earlier times, but now, you can get a great performing gaming laptop for around ₹ 50,000 only. Yes, the Acer Nitro 5 spec we have mentioned costs a little over 50000 but trust us, this particular specification allows it to overperform any other laptop by spending not much from your pocket. It packs in a GTX 1650 graphics card which is crazy at this price point. It also features an AMD Ryzen 5 processor that performs great, much comparable to it’s Intel i5 H-series based counterparts but costing way cheaper. If you want a laptop for gaming, it can’t get better than this. The one place where you might suffer is responsiveness, due to the omission of an SSD. But you can always get one later down the road and we’d highly recommend doing so too! That wraps up and makes the Acer Nitro 5 one of the best laptops under 50000 for gaming.

  • GTX 1650 4GB at this price point is a miracle.
  • Thin bezel IPS Full HD display
  • Backlit keyboard (Red)
  • Decent heat management
  • Looks don’t scream the gamer vibe

  • No SSD preinstalled
  • Trackpad much off-centre to the left
  • Battery life takes a hit with the H-series processor and graphic card.

Lenovo’s Ideapad S340 is a great laptop that offers the latest 10th Gen Intel i5 G4 series processor in this price range. This means that you have the latest generation of Intel’s mobile CPU’s, with integrated graphics that perform better than what the dedicated MX150 has to offer. The Laptop also comes with a plentiful 512GB SSD storage and has a 15.6-inch display at just around 1.8 kgs. One important point to note is the price fluctuation for this variant as it rolls between 48-55k on Amazon, so make your choice wisely. But even for the latter amount, the laptop offers great value with good built, great looking display and latest processor.

  • 10th gen intel Processor
  • 512GB PCIe SSD
  • Backlit Keyboard
  • Presence of another 2.5-inch SATA expansion slot

  • One of the 2 RAM slots is soldered on.
  • Low brightness at levels below 75%

7. Microsoft Surface Go (Best Touchscreen Experience)

The Microsoft Surface go can be called a misfit in this category but it does offer the best touchscreen experience amongst all the machines in this price segment. Do note, this laptop runs the S mode of windows 10 (other Operating systems can be installed) and is close to 0.5Kg in weight. The processor though is Y series and we recommend getting this only if you want to do basic tasks like watching 1080p video, browsing, note-taking, painting, etc. For anything more intensive, prefer skipping this option. This can be a great lightweight option for officegoers and students and offers the true Microsoft Surface experience which is usually found in much more expensive devices. The only downside is that the surface pen and type cover are sold separately and it may cost you about 7-9k each to get those options.

  • Lightweight and highly portable
  • Decent battery life and fast charging for the price
  • A gorgeous display with 3:2 aspect ratio.

  • Surface keyboard and pens need to be purchased separately
  • 128GB storage is the max you can get
  • S mode of Windows 10 not for everyone.

8. HP Pavilion x360

The HP Pavilion x360 series has been quite popular for its touchscreen performance and economical price and this variant is no different. Moreover, the best part about it is that the HP inking pen is in the box and does not need to be purchased separately like most other touch-based devices which is just great. It comes with the latest 10th gen Intel i3 processor which is good for general productivity tasks but is not suitable for anything more intensive. The laptop also comes with built-in Alexa support which is a plus too. The only downside is the HD display, while most other options offer Full HD display resolution at this price. If that’s not an issue, we recommend picking it up.

  • MS Office is included
  • SSD based storage drive
  • Great pen support and low latency
  • Offers around 6 hours of battery life with moderate use

  • Display resolution is just 1366×768 which is rarely seen now.
  • Only 4GB RAM at this price
