Asus ROG Phone 3 Unveiled with Snapdragon 865+, 144Hz Display, 6,000 mAh Battery

Pricing for the Asus ROG Phone 3 starts at just ₹ 49,999 in India for the 8GB + 128GB variant.

Asus revealed its ROG Phone 3 in India on 22nd July 2020 via an online-only launch event. The phone is the successor of the ROG Phone 2, being a part of Asus’s gaming lineup of smartphones. It comes with various hardware-level upgrades such as the newest Snapdragon 865+ chipset, a 144Hz display, and a massive 6,000 mAh battery. Also included are some gaming-centric features like improved heat dissipation via a redesigned GameCool Vapour Chamber with a graphite film, and presence of AirTriggers 3, Asus’s incarnation of shoulder buttons for gaming.

Pricing and Launch Offers in India

The phone launched in India at a very attractive price, starting at ₹ 49,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant. The upgraded 12GB + 256GB variant costs you ₹ 57,999. Alongside the phone, come quite a few accessories like an Aero Case, 30W ROG Hypercharge Charger, USB-C to 3.5mm adaptor and a USB-C to C charging cable. Alongside the phone, Asus also brought a ton of accessories to enhance the gaming experience. These include the ROG Kunai 3 gamepad at ₹ 9,999, the TwinView Dock 3 at ₹ 19,999, Mobile Desktop Dock 2 at ₹ 12,999, Glass Screen Protector at ₹ 699, Neon Aero Case at ₹ 1,999 and a Lightning Armor Case for ₹ 2,999.

You will be even able to connect the ROG Phone 3 to a PlayStation 4, Xbox, or Stadia controller via the ROG Clip that comes in at ₹ 1,999. Additionally, the ROG Centre Headset launched at ₹ 7,699, the AeroActive Cooler 3 at ₹ 2,999, and the ROG Centra Core at ₹ 3,999.

Specification and Features of the ROG Phone 3

Powered by the Snapdragon 865+ 5G enabled SoC, the Asus ROG Phone 3 runs Android 10 with ROG UI. This lag-free clear experience is made better via a 6.59-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a staggering 144Hz refresh rate, 270Hz touch sampling rate, 1ms response time, and HDR 10+ support. There is also up to 12GB of LPPDDR5 RAM in the Indian variant and up to 256GB of UFS3.1 storage. On the camera front, the ROG Phone 3 has a triple camera setup at the back. A 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 sensor with an f/1.8 lens is paired up with a 13-megapixel ultrawide camera with 125-degree FoV, and a 5-megapixel macro camera.

There is a 24-megapixel selfie camera on the front and the phone can shoot up to 8K videos with its rear cameras. Connectivity options include dual USB Type-C ports, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth v5.1, NavIC, and 5G. The fingerprint scanner is in-display and should be plenty fast. Additionally, the phone omits a 3.5mm audio jack but does come with an adaptor inside the box. Lastly, a 6,000 mAh battery powers the ROG Phone 3 with support for 30W USB-PD fast charging.
